Not all are great

So the carrot soup was a disaster. And the sausage dish wasn't much better. Won't be doing that again. Went out to wild wings on Saturday and had chili at my parents house tonight. Back to fresh 20 tomm.

Fresh 20 - week 1

So after about 6 months of seeing them come through Groupon and doing some research here and there I finally flipped the switch and signed up for a meal planning service called the Fresh 20. From what I could find it was the best match up with what I want to be eating. On Monday we looked over the menu for that night .....and ended up making frozen pizza....not a good sign.   Emery wasn't feeling great and the chicken took a little over an hour to make.  So the next day (Tuesday) I stayed home with Emery (who had hives all over her body) and made the chickens..

...ahhhh ok now i get it. There is a page in the packet they send you that says "make ahead". So clearly they didn't anticipate us picking up the recipe at 6:00PM on a Monday night.  So Tuesday night we had our first Fresh 20 meal, curiosity of Dave (who now makes dinner 90% of the time).

Tuesday's dinner: LEMON HERB ROAST CHICKEN with cauliflower & chard sauté with black eyed peas....um so good! who would have thought cauliflower & swiss chard could taste so good. I went back for seconds...and thirds.  I can take credit for the chicken, which i might add was amazing.

Wednesday's dinner: THAI STYLE TILAPIA IN COCONUT BROTH over brown rice.... so we didn't have brown rice and just made white rice....it was amazing. We will be making this again for sure!

Thursday's dinner: CREAMY CHEDDAR & CHICKEN MACARONI   ... this one was good, but not amazing.  It needed something (maybe buffalo sauce). It made a ton though.

Tonight we will be having SAUSAGES & BLACK EYED PEAS with carrot ginger soup and Saturday or Sunday we will be having COCONUT TOFU RICE NOODLES with carrots, cilantro, and fresh lime.  I think we are cooking out with the neighbor tomorrow night so it might be Sunday for the Tofu...which might work out if my friend Prisha (the vegetarian) comes over.
